Surge Programming

Surge offers competitive programming for girls and boys each Fall and Spring. The Fall season typically runs from October through February, while the Spring season generally runs from April through July (dates may vary based on BNB regulations).

For more advanced players, Surge also offers an Elite team in September/October, before the High School season begins.

The Surge Pathway to Success

At Surge Basketball, we believe strong basketball players are developed over time through the right combination of fundamentals, challenge, competition and opportunity.

The Surge Pathway to Success provides athletes with a clear progression from learning the game to competing at increasingly higher levels. Each stage is designed to build on the one before it, helping players develop not only their basketball skills, but also their confidence, decision-making, competitiveness and understanding of the game

DEVELOP (U11)

The foundation starts here. Our youngest athletes focus on developing strong fundamental skills, learning proper movement and technique, building basketball IQ and gaining confidence with the ball. At this stage, the priority is creating capable, confident players who enjoy learning and are prepared for the demands of competitive basketball.

COMPETE (U12-U14)

As athletes progress, training becomes increasingly competitive and game-focused. Players are challenged to apply their skills under pressure, make quicker decisions, understand team concepts and compete consistently. Athletes learn how to respond to adversity, accept coaching, play within a team and continue developing the technical and mental skills required to perform at a higher level.

EXCEL (Advanced High School Athletes)

For our higher level high school athletes ready for an additional challenge, Surge Elite provides advanced training and exposure to high-level competition. The focus shifts toward refining skills, increasing pace and physicality, improving decision-making and preparing athletes for opportunities beyond club basketball.

Surge Basketball Camps

Join our exciting and interactive basketball camps, where you'll learn from coach Battilana and some of the province's best youth/university players. At our camps, we emphasize fun, building connections, and developing essential skills.

What is Surge Elite?

Surge Elite is our new high-performance program designed for experienced Grade 9 and 10 athletes who have previously competed at a high level and are looking to continue challenging their game.

The program brings together motivated athletes from across the province for advanced training and competitive tournament opportunities beyond regular club play. With an emphasis on skill development, basketball IQ, competitive intensity, and team play outside of Atlantic Canada, Surge Elite provides athletes with an environment designed to prepare them for the next level.
